This year’s event kicks off with a round of talks on how to use mobile analytics to boost your app business. During this morning segment you’ll hear from SoundCloud growth manager Andy Carvell on the interactions between app acquisition, engagement and analytics. Patrick Kane, founder of Priori Data, will provide an insight into using data mining and analytics to power marketing campaigns, while Marie Steinthaler, who heads marketing at TV app Hopster, will give some actionable examples of “successful mobile growth hacks.”

ASO is a hot topic right now, but it’s also one that’s often clouded in jargon and not well understood. Speakers at this year’s APS Berlin will attempt to cut through all the murk and give developers and marketers some clear advice around optimising their app store presence. During the ASO section, Tom Leclerc, ASO manager at mobile game giant Wooga, will be on-hand to discuss the benefits of review mining and keyword generation. Tune’s Patrick Haig meanwhile will give an overview on how iOS 8 has changed the ASO landscape. The two talks will be capped by an interactivity session, where attendees can put their question to a panel of ASO experts.

During this session attendees will get an insight into some of the cutting edge issues facing the app marketing industry today. Joana Picq, from CPI specialists Jampp, will look at how to acquire users globally, from the US to emerging markets. Simon Kendall, from analytics experts Adjust, will outline how to increase conversion rates with marketing data, while Fiksu’s Eric Garcia gives the lowdown on the programmatic future of app marketing. The session ends with a case study from dating app Lovoo – on how re-targeting helped drive its app engagement – before an interactive panel Q&A

Video is one of the most effective ways of communicating your app’s function to prospective users. During this post-lunch session, Dynamo Partners’ Stefan Bielau talks about using TV to market apps and games, while Vungle’s Si Crowhurst delves into the nitty gritty of video advertising creative. In the second half AdKnowledge’s Christian Dankl discusses the role of video in user acquisition and Applift’s Michael Puriz looks more closely at running an app install campaign on YouTube’s ad platform. At the end of the session panelists from Microsoft, Yodel Mobile, and Agentur take on audience questions.

To conclude this year’s Berlin summit speakers will tackle the big question of “what’s next?” in the app marketing world. But before knowing the future, you need to understand the lessons learned in the past. Gutefrage.net’s George Nietsch kicks off the session by discussing what lessons his question/answer website learned from meetings with Apple and from lean startup approaches. Yodel Mobile founder Mick Rigby closes things up by asking some broader questions about the purpose of mobile technology while bringing-in insights from Iggy Pop and Albert Einstein.

The App Promotion Summit 2014 Berlin will take place at the five star Hotel Adlon Kempinski, located in Berlin’s Mitte (named the ‘Best Hotel in Northern Europe’ by Conde Nast Traveller). As well as expert talks, the venue will also play host to the App Promotion Summit Marketplace, where delegates and companies can get together for private sit-down meetings. The Marketplace was a big success during APS London earlier in the year, so it’s sure to go down a storm in Berlin.
