AppLift acquires Bidstalk to add performance-based mobile app marketing
Mobile app marketing platform AppLift yesterday announced that it has acquired Bidstalk, a Singapore-based, self-service, mobile demand-side platform (DSP), which allows advertisers to buy mobile ad inventory on a real-time, self-serve basis.

Bidstalk is now integrated into DataLift, AppLift’s mobile user acquisition platform. Despite the integration, the companies will continue to serve as separate entities. In addition, Bidstalk will be providing extended programmatic in-house and self-service benefits through the combination of its real-time bidding and DataLift’s data management and optimisation. Advertisers in need of large-scale performance to acquire users and engage globally will find the addition particularly useful.
“We started as a CPI network for games and we built a solid platform around LTV, but we never made the step into RTB. But now we’re seeing an inflection point around mobile performance and it feels like the right time to combine our tech stack with an RTB stack so we can help clients target their ads more precisely.”
The acquisition of Bidstalk further allows campaign marketers to access over 50 programmatic mobile display, video and native SSPs exchanges through DataLift. It is also a chance for AppLift to underline its recent jump into APAC, having opened offices in Beijing, Tokyo, and Delhi earlier this year. At the same time, Bidstalk will gain further traction in Europe and North America through the integration. Koschella says:
“Most of the countries in APAC are either mobile-first or have transitioned to become more mobile – even more mature markets, like Japan. Then there are also all of these emerging ecosystems in Southeast Asia, places like Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, India and even Myanmar where adoption is still low, but the room to grow is tremendous. And almost all of that digital growth will come from mobile, not desktop, because in these countries, the way they access the Internet is through a smartphone, not a PC.”
Bidstalk was founded in 2014 by Vaibhav Gupta and Guna Kakulapati and comes with a team of 40 experienced ad tech personnel. AppLift clients include large global advertisers such as Match.com, King, Zynga, OLX, Glu Mobile, Myntra, Paltalk and Tap4Fun.
