This summer’s App Promotion Summit 2014 in London played host to some of the biggest movers and shakers in the world of app marketing, none more so than Jampp CEO Diego Meller, who gave an enlightening talk on the importance of app re-engagement. Jampp provides app marketing services including app promotion and app engagement to clients around the world, so Diego had plenty of good insights into the topic. Here’s a quick overview of his talk.

During the presentation Diego explained why it’s so important to re-engage users who have downloaded your app. He pointed out that 22% of downloaded apps are only opened once and only 5% of users continue using apps after six months. Re-engagement is therefore a critically overlooked aspect of app promotion. According to Diego, one of the key things holding back re-engagement in the past has been deep linking from an ad into a relevant page in the app, due to the lack of cookies, but this hurdle has now largely been overcome.
