Leadbolt updates SDK to version 5.0 to take advantage of new iOS 8 features
Leadbolt has updated its SDK to version 5.0 to take advantage of the new features and enhancements found in iOS 8. The aim of the update is to help app developers maximise their potential earnings through the Leadbolt app discovery and monetization platform. The two key changes to the Leadbolt SDK 5.0 are:
- Ad Display Orientation – App developers can now design apps that will display differently when the device is held horizontally. This change will require the use of Leadbolt’s iOS SDK version 5.0 to ensure proper ad display with apps utilizing landscape mode on iOS 8
- Re-Engagement Tool – Apple is changing the way apps get re-engagement notification permissions. Developers will need to add additional code to ask for permission if using re-engagement notifications

The updates to Apple’s iOS 8 itself allow app developers to make use of a barometer sensor, Touch ID for authenticating a user before they try out an app, and Smart House apps that give users control over their home environment remotely.
