MeetMe launches native chat ads and video interstitials
Social discovery network, MeetMe, recently launched its native chat ads for the iPhone app and video interstitials for Android. The company helps users discover new people to chat with using their mobile devices in the US and has over one million daily active users. Its revenue model includes native advertising, virtual currency and a subscription model.
MeetMe brings people together on mobile devices
Geoff Cook, CEO, MeetMe, expects native chat ads and video interstitials to contribute over $1m in revenue for the fourth quarter 2015. He says:
“We are presently enjoying strong pricing on the video interstitials. We are also pleased to bring our native mobile ad unit to our most popular feature – Chat. In addition to these new ad units, we have greatly increased the targeting potential available to advertisers over the last quarter by launching an expanded profile and interest tags. In addition to these new advertising products, we remain on schedule to launch dramatic improvements to our in-app purchasing products as well. By year-end, we expect to launch a major revamp of our MeetMe+ subscription service, as well as a new in-app-purchase product in our Chat section.”
In June this year, the company launched Chat Suggestions, a feature that recommends new people to chat with based on a variety of metrics to determine compatibility.
