PacketZoom SDK significantly boosts Indian travel app Travelyaari’s performance

PacketZoom, the mobile app performance company, just announced that Travelyaari, the Indian online bus booking portal, downloaded apps 1.87x quicker using the PacketZoom Mobile Expresslane SDK. In addition, Travelyaari was able to rescue 77% of its network disconnections using the SDK.

In return, this led to a 5.8% rise in scree views, a 5.3% reduction in user churn and 7.5% increase in user engagement.

Travel app user require information quickly whilst on the go. That is why solid app performance and reliability are a key component of such apps.

PacketZoom’s Mobile Observatory finds that mobile app users in India have to deal with an average 14.7% of session disconnects using 3G networks. In addition, their load times are rather slow compared to the rest of the world.

Travelyaari is a popular app in India, even in places where mobile network quality is less reliable, app load times are slow and app disconnects occur often. This meant that the company was looking for a solution to boost its app performance and reliability for users.

According to the test results, Travelyaari’s performance squared well with apps such as Sephora and Netmeds that also use PacketZoom to speed up load times 2x and have 80% fewer disconnects.
