What’s your secret?

We love what we do and we are not afraid to innovate and use new technologies. We constantly test assumptions and have a whole department dedicated to this. Then, we allocate resources to those projects that show traction. This is how we launched AdExchange and several other revenue-generating internal projects, all originating in the minds of our team members. We have always been client-oriented and we make sure that everything we do is of the best quality. From 2011 to 2014, we grew by 1,498%. In 2015, we made several bigger steps and increased our growth dynamics.

What types of clients do you work with?

Our primary focus is mobile publishers. Our goal is to create the most effective, easy-to-use platform for monetizing mobile web and in-app traffic (especially from emerging markets), and for acquiring mobile users. Nevertheless, we have a wide variety of solutions for advertisers, affiliates and ad networks.

What geographies are you focused on and where are you seeing the most growth?

While Clickky works with global traffic, we are one of the best at monetizing traffic in emerging markets, and we see lots of business opportunities there. Last year the industry experienced a 77% boost in mobile data traffic due to those growing economies. With the introduction of cheap 3G handsets, mobile devices provided, perhaps, the first link to the Internet for many people. Now, emerging markets offer numerous opportunities for mobile marketing, and companies from all over the world are starting to pay attention to them. While we have lots of ad campaigns with high fill rates for the U.S. and Eastern Europe, we mainly invest into building presence and getting new clients and partners on emerging markets, as we see the highest potential there.

What are your main tips for successful mobile advertising?

Successful mobile advertising should be consumer oriented. The main benefit of mobile is that you can reach your specific audience at any place and at any time, and it is important to use this to full advantage. Also, in the post-install era it is extremely expensive to attract new users, so it is high time to focus advertising strategies on user retention. The thoughtful use of analytics instruments and campaign data is another key for mobile advertising success.

Can you name any aspects of mobile advertising that, in your opinion, aren’t possible to automate?

Automation can definitely save time, but it should be applied thoughtfully. You can automate the whole process, but the results will be different in different contexts. The most obvious example is creatives. It is really hard to generate a good creative automatically. It is possible to search for the perfect template for years, but a banner that a professional designer creates will still be better. Nevertheless, we are currently working on this issue.

What do you think about ads blocking on mobile? Do you see it as a problem or symptom?

Addressing ad blocking as a problem only leads to a constant tech race between ad blockers and ad providers. It is a battle no one can win. While ad blocking is definitely a constant headache for mobile industry players, it is also a kind of indicator of how users address your information. The only available solution is to integrate ads into websites, making ads a part of the content – and here is where native advertising saves the day. Nevertheless, this battle helps to develop the industry.

What do you think the big themes for mobile advertising/app marketing/app development/mobile performance marketing are going to be in 2016?

Mobile markets will continue to grow in 2016, mostly due to emerging markets. We will see further personalization of ad campaigns, a shift to more progressive forms of advertising, while engagement will finally overtake the remaining install metric. Mobile budgets will continue to grow. Also, in 2016 we need to find new approaches for mobile privacy and ad blocking.

What kind of people work with you in the team at Clickky?

We are a team of young and passionate professionals, ready to defy conventions to reach our business goals. We always aim to provide our clients with the best services possible, so we have a goal to create the world’s most effective and easy-to-use platform for mobile traffic monetization in emerging markets. And we are always open to new and exciting horizons.

What mobile devices do you use?

I use an iPhone 6 as my primary smartphone and an LG G Stylo as my secondary one.

What are your favorite apps?

I don’t play mobile games, as they are very time consuming. Besides business apps and messengers, I often use Shazam.

Will you buy an Apple Car?

It depends on how fast it accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour. 🙂
