Verve Mobile announces hire of Mark Ollila to help expand mobile location advertising

Location-based mobile ad company, Verve Mobile, recently announced that it has hired Dr. Mark Ollila as General Manager and Chief of Staff to support Verve President and Chief Innovation Officer, Tom Kenney, in expanding the company’s team and mobile location ad services.

Before he joined Verve, Ollila held a series of senior positions at Nokia, including the leadership of its smart devices long-term roadmap and innovation portfolio. A core member of the deal team between Nokia and Microsoft’s strategic agreement, he also helped to launch a variety of Nokia services from games, app stores to photo and video sharing.

Ollila is also a member of the Southern California startup incubator EvoNexus’s selection committee and has a residence at UC Irvine’s Institute for Applied Innovation. As a board member of the Game Developers Conference (Mobile), he regularly advises entertainment and game businesses.
