This is a post all about how to increase your revenue using targeting by operator. We managed to convert each 5c admob click into a 9c per click revenue - basically doubling our money...
Anyone else managed to do this or tried and failed?

hi james my name is vlad i am just starting in this mobile affiliate marketing i was wondering if you can help me out with some questions that i have
if i want to promote a product for lets say mobprofit and they have a textndate site do i have to start my own mobile website to start getting paid?
Hi vladdy - you can use other methods such as PPC (buying clicks on ad networks like admob) - you dont necessarily need your own site.
Hi James, regarding your post on targeting (1st in this string) - we're also seeing much lower than expected conversion buying blind traffic on a mobile network.
The site is optimised to work on all handsets, and users are obviously clicking a banner that goes some way to explaining what the product is.
Therefore, if a user is able to view the site, and has an interest in the product (by virtue of the fact they're clicking the link) why do you think blind traffic converts so relatively poorly?
Hi Josh
Comes down to the quality of the traffic. I have heard that there is a lot of click fraud going on in the major blind networks. Probably harder to manage than online where cookies etc are easier to track.
Secondly, a lot of traffic on the blind networks comes from low quality sites so of course the quality of engagement / visitor is not going to be so good.
Finally, have you got the right targeting, creative and landing pages in place.? Lots of clicks does not necessarily mean lots of conversions. For example, certain traffic (i.e. nokia 5800 on T-Mobile) might give you a lot of clicks to a creative offering 'chance to win' etc but bugger all conversions.
Are you doing multivariate / AB testing on creative/ landing pages/ traffic types to improve conversions?
Love your product by the way - I am sure Touch Mobile is going to do great things in 2011! :-)

Thanks for the tips - most of these are covered, but since checking the logs we've had a few instances of lots of requests from the same IP, which makes me think there could be some click fraud going on.
Thanks for your kind comments also. We'll be looking to set up an affiliate programme for this and a couple of our other upcoming sites in the next couple of months so if you're interested I'll get in touch near the time.
Not sure if your last line was meant to be there?!
